John J. Diehl, Jr., (born August 28, 1965) is an American attorney and a Republican member of the Missouri House of Representatives.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Member Roster )〕 He has represented the 89th district, which includes Ballwin, Chesterfield, Country Life Acres, Crystal Lake Park, Des Peres, Frontenac, Huntleigh, Kirkwood, Ladue, Manchester, Town and Country, since 2013 and currently serves as Majority Floor Leader.〔 Diehl has been Speaker of the House since January 2015.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Diehl elected as next Speaker of the House )〕 Prior to redistricting he represented the 87th district from 2009-2012. Diehl resigned on May 14, 2015 after a scandal came to light regarding inappropriate messages exchanged with an intern. ==Early life and career== Diehl graduated from De Smet Jesuit High School, which is in Creve Coeur, in 1983.〔 He then went to the University of Missouri and majored in political science.〔 He also received a law degree from St. Louis University.〔 He is a member of the Town and Country and Frontenac Chamber of Commerce, was named Town and Country and Frontenac Chamber of Commerce's 2006 businessman of the year, and was on the Town and Country and Frontenac Chamber of Commerce executive committee from 2004-2007.〔 Diehl is married, has three boys, and attends Our Lady of the Pillar parish in Creve Coeur.〔(【引用サイトリンク】archiveurl=http://web.archive.org/web/20131129142818/http://www.johndiehl.org/about.html )〕
